Research literacy
The peptide research space moves quickly and mixes rigorous science with speculative marketing. These are the habits that help separate the two.
Know the evidence hierarchy
In vitro (dish/tube) findings are the earliest and weakest signal. Animal (in vivo) studies come next. Only controlled human clinical trials establish that an effect seen in a lab reliably translates to people. Most research peptides sit at the first two stages.
Check regulatory status
"Studied" and "approved" are not the same thing. A compound can have decades of published research and still have zero regulatory approval anywhere, or approval for one narrow indication only (as with Tesamorelin or PT-141 in this atlas).
Purity is not assumed — it's verified
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) from independent, third-party testing is the standard way any research supplier demonstrates a batch's identity and purity. A product without a matching, verifiable COA carries an unknown composition — full stop.
Watch for source diversity
Several compounds in this atlas — Epitalon and Thymalin among them — have an evidence base concentrated almost entirely within one research group. That's worth knowing before treating a finding as broadly established.
Cold-chain matters for stability
Most peptides are shipped lyophilized (freeze-dried) because that form is far more stable at room temperature than a reconstituted solution, which typically needs refrigeration and has a limited usable window once mixed.
Read past the brand name
Many peptides circulate under research-community nicknames (TB-500, PT-141) that differ from their approved drug names (Vyleesi) or chemical designations. The library's alias field exists to help you connect the dots.
